PRESS RELEASE > STEELWAY WIN BSF “BEST SUSTAINABLE PRODUCT” AWARD
At the recent Interbuild Exhibition Steelway were awarded The Building Schools for the future “Best
Sustainable product” award for their outdoor play solutions.
Steelway were chosen because their products contributed towards creating a sustainable community and
supported local regeneration. Their continuous product development and commitment to life cycle costing
eradicates the need to replace their products for at least 25 years therefore minimising disruption.
Another
Key value of BSF is local employment and Steelway have focused on employing local people and offering
apprenticeships and training schemes over the years. Steelway can proudly say we have a number of
employees who have been with the company in excess of 25 years which includes employees who started
as apprentices themselves. This impressed the Judges who were members of the Birmingham BSF
procurement team, the Judges viewed Steelway as portraying the key values of the BSF programme.
