SPIRAL STAIRS FOR MILD STEEL STAIRCASE
A spiral steel staircase suitable for a wide
range of applications from Residential
to Industrial, and complying with the
requirements of BS.5395: Part 2.
Available in any diameter, rising
clockwise or anti-clockwise to suit
customers requirements. Construction
is based on a tubular centre column
which is fully load bearing and
capable of supporting a landing or
floor joists.
Treads are set at 221/2°
(16 per circle) and are constructed
from solid Durbar pattern plate welded to a tubular collar to fit over
the centre core column. Alternative
type treads and landings are available
such as pan type. Landings are
provided to fit existing situations
where details are available or to suit
new applications. Handrails comprise
of a 42.4mm dia. tube supported on
20mm dia. balusters that also serve to
secure the outer extremities of the
treads, and together, they form a rigid
construction.
Additional balusters are required for
stairs in residential situations in order
that any gaps do not exceed 100mm.
All parts are prefabricated for easy site
assembly. Spirals of 2.0m diameter or
less require relaxation of Building
Regulations regarding minimum tread
‘go’. The 2.2m diameter spiral will give
800mm clear width of stair when fitted
with an inside handrail to comply with
Building Regulations.
